The Yoga of the Four Immeasurables uses a meditation on Love, Joy, Compassion, and Equanimity. They are the four states of mind described in The Yoga Sutra by Master Patanjali as the ultimate method for overcoming all obstacles on the spiritual path. These thoughts are cultivated during a joyful, flowing asana sequence that focuses on radiating love to all beings from the svadistana chakra, the crucial energy center at the base of the spine.

Yoga of the Kalachakra Tantra: The Five Winds

There are many names for this sense of ourselves: winds, vayus, subtle body, and energy body, to name a few. It's a fluid and subtle expansive awareness that we can connect to at times when we are present. The benefits are va...st. The winds connect to our thoughts and so working with the winds can help us with our troubled states of mind. Our places of physical discomfort are also connected to the winds. Connecting to the winds can help us to heal our bodies.

On Saturday night, Deedee will talk about the winds and also engage participants in some simple exercises to experience them.

The Sunday workshop is philosophy and yoga positions designed to understand and experience the winds.

Deedee Poyner has been teaching Tibetan Heart Yoga for 7 years. She has a long and rich history in teaching various yoga styles, Buddhist philosophy and meditation. Deedee is also a professional counsellor. For more information about Deedee’s work, visit deedeecounsellingyoga.wordpress.com.
